Valentine's Day Brownies with Chocolate Chia Buttercream

The perfect gluten free treat to share with your loved ones this Valentine's Day! Boxed brownies keep this recipe super simple and a heart shaped cookie cutter keeps them extra festive! These brownies are topped with homemade Chocolate Chia Buttercream and sprinkles for the ultimate dessert. 



Ingredients

Instructions:

  1. Bake boxed brownies according to package directions. (My favorite gluten free options are from Aldi - LifeGFree - and Simple Mills.)
  2. When completely cool, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the brownies into hearts.
  3. Combine butter and chocolate chia nutnola butter in a large bowl and use an electric mixer to beat until creamy and well-combined.  
  4. Gradually (about ⅓ cup at a time), with mixer on low speed add powdered sugar until completely combined. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl so all ingredients are well-combined. 
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  6. With mixer on low-speed, add milk and mix until well-combined. Gradually increase speed to high and beat for 30 seconds.  
  7. Spread or pipe frosting onto brownies and top with sprinkles!
